Vipassana Meditation & Qigong DOM: June 10

Our next Day of Mindfulness will be held on Saturday June 10th from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Adriane Oliver and Linda Smith will guide us through the day with a combination of two practices: Vipassana meditation and qigong.

Qigong is an ancient Chinese practice the has been used for millennia to maintain and improve physical, mental and emotional well-being. Through movement, sound, visualization and meditation, Qigong can enable you to access the energy of life to calm the mind, recharge your body and reduce stress. As the mind is focused, concentrated and calm this practice supports and enhances our mindfulness meditation.

Used in concert these two practices bring a bright wakefulness and a concentrated embodied presence that connects us with the innate love, joy, and wisdom of our true nature.

Adriane has been a Vipassana practitioner since 1988, was trained at Spirit Rock as a Community Dharma Leader, and has sat with most of the senior teachers in the western Vipassana community. Linda started her practice of meditation and movement in 1973 with Sri Swami Satchidananda in the 6 paths of Integral Yoga. In Qigong, Adriane and Linda have trained to teach with Qigong Master Mingtong Gu, who received his training from a variety of Chinese and Tibetan grand masters, and is the founder of The Chi Center in New Mexico.

This is a popular retreat so early registration is recommended. You may register online at or contact Linda Smith.  A $10 registration donation assists in covering the rental cost. Dana for the teachers and their teachings is encouraged.

The daylong retreat will be held at the Port Townsend Friends Meetinghouse, corner of Sheridan and 19th. Please wear comfortable clothing, bring your personal meditation supports, and bring your lunch and snacks. Hot water will be available for tea.
