Forgetting and Remembering: Reflections on the Path of Awakening
“Many of us start out on the spiritual path with a sense of coming home to something essential, or reconnecting with what deeply matters. And yet, the pull of habitual tendencies of mind often erodes our ability to integrate and live out what we know is possible. In this evening talk and day-long retreat, we will explore together how we can relate to the highlights and lowlights we may experience on the path, and how cultivating certain qualities of heart such as friendliness, patience, and resolve can serve as our support.”
KERI PEDERSON began meditating in 1998, motivated by a deepening yoga practice as well as a strong desire to understand suffering. She began attending retreats in the tradition of S.N. Goenka, and has since practiced with a variety of lay and monastic teachers in the US, Thailand, and India. Rodney Smith invited her to teach in 2007, and she began offering classes, groups, and individual mentorship through Seattle Insight Meditation Society. She has also completed the four-year Teacher Training program through Spirit Rock and IMS.
The weekend is appropriate for both new and experienced meditators, and will include meditation (with instructions) and Dharma talks. Registrants will receive additional details prior to the event. If you have questions, feel free to email us.
